Why Church of God?

Welcome to where you belong, God’s household (Church of God) which keeps the ‘Seventh Day Sabbath’ as commanded. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household. Ephesians 2:19. yet to those who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12. ‘Church of God’ is a Biblical name as enshrined in the Scriptures, many have been tempted using different names for their ministries or churches which they have founded forgetting that we have only one founder Jesus Christ. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:9-11. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28. You will realize that the church as referred here is the ‘ church of God’ and that was the one that was purchased. Can you find any other verse quoting the church of God? Yes! you can find several, however, let me share one verse, “Unto the church of God at Corinth….? 1 Corinthians 1:2. Check out for a warning in the Old and New Testaments on any addition or subtraction. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye keep my commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Exodus 4:2. Remember! God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should change his mind…. Numbers 23:19. That clarifies that God has not changed church of God to any new name, Jesus Christ built the church and he is the founder. …. and many know that this house I have built bears your Name. 2 Chronicles 6:33b. Therefore, Brothers and sisters welcome to your Father’s house.

Kwa nini Kanisa la Mungu?

Karibuni na mjisikie nyumbani na hapa ndipo mnastahili kua, Nyumbani mwa Mungu (Kanisa la Mungu) linalotunza Sabato ya siku ya saba, kama ilivyo amriwa. Unapokua hapa, Nyinyi sio wageni tena wala wapitaji, bali nyinyi ni raia pamoja na watu wa Mungu na ni watu wa jamaa ya Mungu. Waefeso 2:19. Lakini wale wliompokea, wale walioamini aliwapa uwezo wa kuwa watoto wa Mungu. Yohana 1:12. ‘Kanisa la Mungu’ linapatikana katika Biblia, na ndivyo limeorodheshwa katika Maandiko matakatifu. Wengi wameshawishika kutumia majina tofuati baada ya kuanzisha huduma au makanisa yao. Kasahau kwamba tuna mwanzilishi wa kanisa mmoja tu ambaye ni Kristo Yesu. Maana sisi ni ndugu, wafanyikazi pamoja na Mungu; na nyinyi ni shamba lake; Kwa msaada wa neema aliyonipa Mungu, nimefaulu, kama mwashi stadi mwenye busara, kuweka msingi ambaye juu yake mwingine anajenga. Basi, kila mmoja awe mwangalifu jinsi anvyo jenga juu yake. Hakuna mtu awezaye kuweka msingi mwingine badala ya ule uliokwisha kuwekwa , yaani Yesu Kristo. Wakorinto wa kwanza 3:9-11. Jihadharini wenyewe; lilindeni lile kundi ambalo Roho Mtakatifu amewaweka nyinyi muwe walezi wake. Lichungeni Kanisa la Mungu ambalo amejipatia kwa damu ya mwanawe. Matendo 20:28. Utakalogundua ni kwamba kanisa lilio tanjwa ni ‘Kanisa la Mungu’ na ndilo lilio nunuliwa. Je! waweza pata fungu lingine kwenye Biblia linalotaja “Kanisa la Mungu?” Ndio! mafungu ni mengi tu, ila nitataja fungu moja. Tunawaandikia nyinyi mlio kanisa la Mungu huko Korinto…… Wakorinto wa kwanza 1:2. Onyo latolewa katika agano la kale pamoja na agano jipya, kwa kutoongezawala kupunguza kilichandikwa kwnenya Biblia. Msiongeze chochote katika amri ninazowapeni, wala msipunguze kitu; ….. Kumbukumbu 4:2. Kumbuka! Mungu si mtu, aseme uongo, wala si binadamu, abadili ni yake! … Hesabu 23:19a. Hiyo inadhibitisha kwamba Mungu hajabadili jina la kanisa la awali. Kristo alilijenga Kanisa naye ndiye mwanzilishi. …. na wapate kufahamu kwamba nyumba hii ambayo nimeijenga inajulikana kwa Jina lako. Mambo ya Nyakati wa pili 6:33b. Kwa hiyo Ndugu na Dada zangu karibuni na mjisikie kakita nyumba ya Baba yenu.
